Sensei Phil Beale 5th Dan Shidoin. Commenced training in 1972 under Sensei Barney Wheki. Internationally experienced - has taught seminars in New Zealand, England & Australia. Founded Kobukan Martial Arts in October 1996.
Sensei Phil was graded to 5th Dan in September 2008 at the New Zealand gasshuku, & has been a certified Instructor of Koryu Uchinadi ( Shidoin ) since 2005. Sensei Phil is also a 4th Dan under Shihan Henare Heta of the New Zealand Karate Academy, 4th Dan in Ryukyu Kempo, and 1st Dan in TaeKwon Do. Sensei Phil is a level 1 coach under Karate New Zealand, and has a tertiary qualification in exercise supervision.

Sensei Marcus Steele.
Sensei Marcus Steele 2nd Dan Shidoin. Commenced training in 1999 under Sensei Phil Beale. Graded to 2nd Dan September 2007. Sensei Marcus has taught at Ohaupo & Tamahere Schools since 2002.

Sensei Dawn Foster.
Sensei Dawn Foster 1st Dan. Commenced training in 1985 under Sensei Richard Leong receiving her 2nd Dan in Okinawan Karate in 2002. Sensei Dawn was graded 1st Dan Ryukyu Kempo in 1996. Sensei Dawn was graded 1st Dan Koryu Uchinadi in September 2007.

Sempai Zane Steiner.
Sempai Zane was graded to 1st Dan in September 2008 by Hanshi McCarthy. He has been assisting Sensei Phil with junior classes for the past two years. Sempai Zane took over the teaching roll at Waterworld in May 2008 and continues to assist with the classes at Aberdeen School.
